ATI Fiji White Sand
Our Fiji White Sand is a natural product that is obtained from the mining of a highly pure natural resource. This gives us a fine, white substrate for saltwater aquariums, which is characterized by many positive properties:
1. Highest purity:
Our sand consists of 99.6% pure calcium and magnesium compounds, making it one of the cleanest materials currently available on the market.
2. Very white and high reflective properties:
Due to its high purity, the sand is also particularly white. This is very beneficial for the overall brightness in the aquarium. Similar to nature, corals receive a higher proportion of reflections from the ground, which is very beneficial for corals. The Fiji White Sand is therefore ideal for aquariums with light-hungry corals, as these then also receive a higher proportion of diffuse radiation from below.
3. no more extreme drifts:
Due to its significantly higher density than comparable aragonite sand, Fiji White Sand is significantly heavier and therefore stays put better in currents.
Application:
We recommend a layer height of approx. 2cm. For DSB at least 8-10cm. Due to the small grain size of the sand, accumulation of detritus in the substrate is largely avoided when the current is good.
The sand should be rinsed well several times before use in the aquarium. The existing dust, which always arises from friction during transport etc., should be flushed out as far as possible. To do this, rinse the sand until the water is no longer milky/white and becomes largely clear.
