FLOW WITHOUT COMPROMISE
In an aquarium, having the right flow rate is crucial for the health of the ecosystem. With VorTech® QuietDrive® choosing the right water circulation equipment has never been easier.
VorTech Pumps are engineered by aquarists to be the gold standard for flow in marine aquariums. When it comes to a wide yet smooth flow, the VorTech is unmatched.
Create massive water movement
No "hot spots" damaging corals
Natural whirlpool
Reservoir scale flow models
Precise control of water movement
VORTECH® MODES
Lagoon mode simulates a low-power lagoon environment. The speed of the pump is changed slowly to recreate the gentle currents of a lagoon.
Reef Ridge Mode
Reef Crest Random mode simulates a high energy reef environment. The pump will change speed frequently and drastically to simulate crashing waves and rising tide. It is a favorite of SPS coral.
Whirlwind mode
Gyre mode creates a flow pattern consisting of even clockwise and counter-clockwise flow levels pulsing at a selected interval between two seconds and two hours.
* Alternate directional gyre requires multiple pumps.
Short pulse mode
Short Pulse mode creates a flow pattern consisting of uniform high and low levels pulsing at a selected interval between 0.2 seconds and 2 seconds.
Tidal wave mode
Tidal Swell Mode (TSM) creates a harmonic balance reminiscent of the changing flow conditions found in nature. Over the course of several hours, the flow pattern will change from very chaotic to calm, followed by a burst of detritus removal at the very end of the cycle. The flow direction will change direction with each cycle.
Mode of nutrient transport
Nutrient Transport Mode (NTM) creates circulation in a two-phase program. The first phase uses the movement of the waves to stir up the detritus. The second phase follows with a pushing motion to move the detritus into the overflow and out of the aquarium. This mode promotes maximum health, nutrient export and increased growth for sensitive corals such as SPS.
Supply Mode
At the touch of the button, all VorTech® cordless pumps will temporarily interrupt their current mode and idle, allowing food to be added to the tank without going through the overflow and filtration.
FUNCTION
night mode
The pumps can be activated to run a gentler nighttime program simulating calmer ocean conditions during nighttime hours.
Automatic wave adjustment
Create a standing wave in your aquarium and demonstrate the true power of the fully operational VorTech® QuietDrive® control system.
APTITUDE
Multi-pump communication
All VorTech® “w” pumps are shipped with an RF module installed. The RF module will allow up to 8 "w" pumps of any type to operate together in synchronous, anti-synchronization or coordinated modes.
EcoSmart® Live via mobile device
All VorTech® pumps named "w" are compatible with ReefLink®. ReefLink provides completely wireless access to the world of EcoSmart Live, EcoTech Marine®'s web-based aquarium command center.
Battery backup mode
Snow storm. Hurricane. A motorist hits a power pole. Things happen. The power goes out… VorTech® pumps are compatible with the EcoTech® Battery Backup accessory.
