Red Sea NO3: PO4-X is a complex mixture of different carbon molecules and other related organic elements that provide controlled biological reduction of algae-friendly nutrients (nitrates and phosphates) by naturally growing the nutrient-reducing bacteria present in all aquariums .

Red Sea's “algae management NO3:PO4-X” program provides a complete solution as it is controllable and manages nitrates and phosphates at the same time unlike other methods which leave out certain parts of the process. The following table summarizes the main management methods for nitrates and phosphates:

NO3: PO4-X is easy to use: just pour a small amount of product into your system daily. Over time, the daily dosage of NO3:PO4-X will vary (see instructions for use) depending on the concentrations of nitrates and phosphates measured. This allows you to have precise control over these concentrations and ensures gradual changes and maintenance of the desired nutrient concentrations.

At the start of NO3:PO4–X use, all aquariums will react differently, whether they are new aquariums, balanced without treatment or balanced and under another method of nitrate and/or phosphate reductions. In any case, the nutrient concentrations will stabilize over time at the desired values, regardless of the original ones.

Correct continuous use of NO3:PO4-X does not show adverse effects. Its use is safe for all fish, corals and microfauna. An accidental overdose should also not cause irreversible damage if a properly sized protein skimmer is installed in your system.

Note to user:

Uncontrolled reduction of algae-friendly nutrients can destroy symbiotic Zooxanthellae causing UV radiation stress and coral death. For best results, use an accurate test kit such as the Nitrate Pro test kit from Red Sea which is accurate to 0.125ppm.

Once low nutrient levels have been reached, which is visible when corals exhibit their natural coloration instead of the brownish hue of Zooxanthellae, it is important to begin feeding corals with easily digestible food such as Reef Energy 2 from Red Sea which contains all the necessary carbohydrates, amino acids and vitamins. Effective skimming is essential to provide sufficient oxygenation of the water and to remove flocs of bacteria from the aquarium.
