Aquatis Science Shark 100
The water follows the same path as in the Shark 25 and 35 (mechanical filtration at 300 ì, passage through 16 AS brushes, then mechanical decantation) before crossing - from bottom to top - two huge chambers full of Biocerapond (the large chambers Shark filters have been optimized to obtain a speed of 1 to 3 m / s in order to obtain optimal settling and biochemical exchanges in the Biocerapond). Aeration is provided as standard (optional pump). A simple 16/18 mm connection creates strong counter-current ventilation in the double wall between the last two chambers. The Shark 100 and 150 offer performances as surprising as the Shark 25 and 35 but their additional chamber makes it possible to filter baths up to 150 m3 (fish tanks of 50 to 80 m3 depending on model).
A Hi Blow HP 20 (or more important if several ventilation points) is recommended for oxygenation. Another pump will be used to aerate the basin (HP 80 to 120 depending on the volume of the basin). Supplied complete with two Shark Sieve 300, ventilation (excluding pump). covers, substrates, fittings and valves.
How does filtration work?
- A mechanical prefilter, the Shark Sieve, uncompromising with dirt, retains any visible waste (0.3 mm and more) thanks to a self-cleaning grid of 300 µ (1). This preliminary purification provides a second essential treatment to the water: the runoff leads to a phenomenon of super oxygenation essential to the bacteria in the filtration, which thus find their performance increased tenfold.
- After a second mechanical purification by brushes (2), then a passage on Biozeopond (3), the water passes through the Shark filter chambers which are filled with Biocerapond (4), a bacterial support with performances never equaled.
- The rooms are large and wide in order to favor decantation. The optimized flow allows natural biochemical exchanges carried out by the "good bacteria".
- The foot, unique, has been developed to collect decanted waste (6) which will be evacuated by the opening of a valve.
- An aeration device (5) is integrated (excluding the pump) in each model with more than two chambers in order to promote biochemical reactions (which consume a lot of oxygen) until the end of the journey.
The many advantages of the Shark:
Mechanical pre-filter 300 microns
Easy Clean® notches to ensure proper positioning and facilitate easy brush cleaning.
Thanks to their superior quality, SHARK filters are self-supporting. They must therefore not be buried or supported by an external structure.
All the models are equipped with resistant covers (1 per chamber) in fiberglass provided for a long service life.
Manually made of 3 + 1 layer fiberglass: guaranteed resistance and proven over time. Gel coated on the inside (smoothed perfect to avoid adhesion of waste), top-coated on the outside.
The water path is optimized: low emptying, upflows, counter-current ventilation.
The other advantages are not to be overlooked:
- Incorporation of Biozeopond upstream of biological filtration (retention of nitro compounds) with creation of an anaerobic zone.
- Compact, thanks, among other things, to the use of the volume entirely reserved for filtration substrates.
- Water path studied and optimized thanks to several years of experience: double wall between the chambers ("Up Flow" to optimize filtration (circulation from bottom to top)), optimized decantation without loss of space (in the foot) , aeration against the current in the "Up Flow", ...
- Impossible overflow of Shark Sieve (overflow incorporated), removable ultra-fine self-cleaning grid, ...
- Except through the wall, no visible piercing (leakage impossible): the fixing accessories are machined in the thickness of the filter (screws, support bars, ...).
- Models 2 and more bedrooms: the first bedroom equipped with AS brushes, the 2nd and 3rd 100% from Biocerapond.
- Each settling chamber is equipped with a 50 mm outlet with a guillotine valve as standard.
- Notches for reinforcement of the bottom grids provided for loading with heavier substrates.
- Delivered ready to use, provided with all fittings, valves, substrates, covers, ...
Feature :
Inlet: 25 - 32 - 40 and 50 mm barbed fitting. PVC connection 2 '' possible but not supplied.
Models 60, 100 and 150 (3 chambers) are equipped with a counterflow ventilation in the upflow between chambers 2 and 3 (barbed fitting 16-18 mm).
